Last night was our Homeschool band concert! We did pretty good.
And I am so excited... I am buying myself a french horn today!! Yeah! So after I learn, (/master) the french horn I will begin piano. I am getting a great deal on the buy. (I play the trumpet too.)

Well, a last time I posted I said I am going to post about the Father&Daughter Retreat. I would, if I could! My computer broke down... along with all my pictures! I am very upset. I really hope the hard-drive isn't fried.

This is a cake I made a few weeks ago.

This child, the one above, is just a big hunk of pure cuteness! Even with the Drool, food, and all the good dirtiness that comes along with being kid is just great.
Recently, whenever Boaz gets up from a nap, he will walk by and say 'Hey.' And wave it is just the sweetest little thing! and when he see's a camera, he says 'CHEESE!!!' and does a big cheesey grin.

Burial Service.... for my Betta

For the past few days my Betta, Noble wasn't feeling well. I think he was cold and I most likely over fed him. I feel bad. Last night my little fishy went belly up. Poor little guy.

He was a pretty fish. I didn't feel right flushing him down the porcelain pot. So, I decided to bury him.

I dumped his tank water into the hole and that is what it did:

I copied everything out of the book besides the links in this post. So, this is what the Keepers at Home book inside is like. Sign language is a means of communicating with our fingers and hands instead of using our mouths. This skill will help us to speak with those people who cannot hear or are hearing impaired. Take the time to learn this skill so you will be prepared for whomever God will send your way, so that you will be able to communicated with them. Who knows if you might be able to tell them of God's love for them.

Ice Cream, Beach and Lots of F.U.N!

Instead of just me, Elise and mom going to the ice cream shop, we decided to bring the hole family. Daddy suggested that we go to the beach afterward. :D So, we got our swimsuits on and loaded up. We drove to Bugsies, the doors were locked and the lights were out. There were some work guys outside. Daddy asked them if Bugsies is open, they told him Bugsies went out of business. :-(

So, a little bummed out, we decided to go to:

We all had a great time there and the ice cream shop had great ice cream and Boaz slept almost the hole time!!!

Mom got some chocolate peanut butter ice cream. It looked really good.

I have no idea what Dad got. :-/Providence got cotton candy, Clair got bubblegum.

Pick Me!

Pick me!

Have you ever picked a pumpkin from a pumpkin patch? Pumpkins grow on vines and spread across the field. Pumpkins can grow VERY big or they sometimes do not grow very big. I am going to tell you a story about a little pumpkin dreaming about the day when she grows up.

There once was a pumpkin named Pun-Pun, the small pumpkin was dreaming of November 20, the day Farmer Josiah comes with his wheelbarrow to come and pick the biggest and orange pumpkins. Pun-Pun was still very little, but being did little stop her from dreaming of the day when she would be big enough for Farmer Josiah come and pick her.

November 12 was a beautiful day. The sun was shinning, there was a glorious breeze and there was colorful leaves falling from the trees. Pun-Pun lived at a vegetable farm, where Farmer Josiah grew pumpkins and other fruit and veggies.

Daddy, do you think I will grow up to be as big as you? Little Pun-Pun said. Well Pun-Pun, I cannot promise that you will get very big. Her Father said. I remember when I was just a little pumpkin, I always dreamed of the day that I too would be a big orange pumpkin. I never thought the day would come, but it did. I use to ask, 'Dad, do you think the day will ever come when I am big enough to get picked?' My father tried to answer, but nobody knew for sure.

Pun-Pun let her father words play repeatedly in her mind, in till she said 'I will just have to wait and see.' I hope I will be picked this September! I'm going to grow up this week and I'm going to be the biggest pumpkin anyone will ever see!

Pun-Pun had a good goal, but time was not on her side. Farmer Josiah comes to pick the big and orange pumpkins was in seven days. That meant that Pun-Pun had to grow quite a bit in till she was big enough!

Pun-Pun was convinced that she was going to be the 'the biggest ever seen.' But little did she know that Farmer Josiah had a plan for her.

Finally the day all the pumpkins had been waiting for came. September 20th. Pun-Pun saw Farmer Josiah and his wheelbarrow coming to the patch. Every pumpkin was exited, they had been waiting for this day all year long. Farmer Josiah stopped to pick pumpkins along the way, but Pun-Pun knew she was going to get picked. Her father thought he would try to tell Pun-Pun that she had really only grown a fourth of an inch. But she hardly heard him. Farmer Josiah came to Pun-Pun's father and picked him up, and said ''Here we go, a nice big one.'' Pun-Pun whispered to her dad 'I love you! I love you too!' He replied. The farmer put Pun-Pun's father in the wheelbarrow, he knelt down picked Pun-Pun up. He smiled at the tiny pumpkin, and said, Here we go, little pumpkin, you and your dad are going to stay together.' Farmer Josiah put Pun-Pun in the wheelbarrow with her dad. She smiled and said, 'I knew I was HUGE!!! Her dad laughed, and said they will have a great time. "I'm glad I have you with me daddy!'

I'm glad too.

Flying High

March 3, of 2006 is certainly a day I will never forget. I woke up as a bird!

Hickory Village is a small town in Virgina, with big blue mountains, babbling brooks, and wild flowers growing freely everywhere, and cute birds who never stop singing their beautiful songs.
Saturday morning March 3 I woke up and felt buried in my covers. I finally managed to get out. Then I sat up. Everything around me seemed very big. "I must be dreaming!" I thought. So, I ran over to my mirror. I started to slap and pinch myself, but I could not wake up. Then I stood in front of my mirror for a few more minuets to make sense of what I saw. What stood before me in my mirror was a small brown bird.
"Well," I thought. "Now what do I do? I cannot go to soccer like this! I cannot even open my bedroom door! I know, I can fly out my window, find breakfast, and explore Hickory Village from a birds' point of view!"
Once I was outside, I decided to go where I see most birds, the park. I flapped my wings, harder, harder, "Wow, I am flying, I'm actually flying!" I said. I flew to the park, just realizing that I could understand the other birds beautiful songs! They were signing what sounded like, 'Sunny day, wake up, it's a sunny day!' Everything sounded so different, it was amazing! It was like hearing the main streets of NY, filled with song.
I was having a great time flying around, listening to the pretty songs, landing in trees and chatting with squirrels. I even got to eat some breadcrumbs from the woman who always feeds the birds, and boy was I hungry! I was having the time of my life.
After a few hours I deiced to head home.
I flew so fast that I couldn't see much, everything around me was a blur of green and gray. I saw a big object in front of me, I tried to slow down but I was to close.
I crashed in to the object, hit my head on a branch and found myself, in a tree and in my pajama's!
Feeling dizzy, hungry and embarrassed, I jumped out of the tree, and walked home. My parents where relived to see me and asked where I was. I told them,"If I tell you, you aren't going to believe me" I told them anyway. They shook their heads and looked at each other, said 'OK.' gave me a hug and went back to what they were doing.
Every March 3rd I hope to wake up a bird again, but that was three years ago.
That day in my life was certainly a day I will never forget.

One year ago today my sweet Big Baby Brother Boaz was born!!
Boaz is also walking really good!!! He learned about 3 weeks ago.

I remember right before he was born, (I was getting kind of nervous.) Mommy's midwife came over around lunch time(about 1:00) checked how she's doing and said, "I think I'm going to hang around here for awhile." (The midwife lives an hour away!) Anyway, Momma had Boaz around 3:45. He was as cute as can be and small,,, well, he was small compared to what he is now!

These are not recent pictures of him.

I will post some pictures of his miniature Birthday party soon! (Elise made some flan but I don't think Boaz can have that!! :P

What 'stuck out' to me in chapter five,

4.Though some tongues just love the taste of gossip, Christians have better uses for language than that. Don't talk dirty or silly. That kind of talk doesn't fit our style. Thanksgiving is our dialect.

Ephesians 3 and 4

We were so busy yesterday! I didn't have anytime to blog! :o( It took me awhile to get my chores done, then we went to the park. Then we went to dinner at the Wilson's house, and got home late. So, I had no time to blog. :-D

All right, ANYWAY! Some verses that stuck out to me in chapter 3:

17.Then Christ will live in you through faith. I also pray that love may be the ground into which you sink your roots and on which you have your foundation.
18.This way, with all of God's people you will be able to understand how wide, long, high, and deep his love is.
19.You will know Christ's love, which goes far beyond any knowledge. I am praying this so that you may be completely filled with God.
20.Glory belongs to God, whose power is at work in us. By this power he can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine.

Verses from chapter 4:
2, 29, 32, 27:

2.Always be humble, gentle and patient, bearing with one another in love,

27.Neither give place to the devil.

29.Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers

32.
And be ye kind one to another , tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Ephesians 2

Chapter two seemed to be talking about Faith and being one in Christ. Nothing really grabbed my attention though. The only verse that did a is verses 8-10:

8.For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9.not of works, lest anyone should boast.
10.For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

My bible has commentary and this is what the commentary said about verses 8-9:

For verse 2:8, you have been saved,

Salvation is as completed action that has a present effect. In his earlier letters Paul usually refers to salvation either as a future event (Rom. 5:9-10) or as a present process (1Cor. 1:18; 2Cor. 2:15). One expectation is Rom. 8:24, where Paul puts salvation in the past, but qualifies it as needing a completion at Christ's return.

Verse 2:9, Works,

Only faith, not works, can bring us acceptance with God. But good works are the vital consequence and evidence of life with God (Titus 2:14; 3:8, 14; James 2:14-26) God chose us to make us holy sons and daughters and He has now fashioned us to be new bearers of His image, designed for the kind of the life that confirms to God's character.

Well I don't have much to say. :/ Maybe I will have more to say tomorrow.

So, I a verse that 'stuck out' to me is verses 4-6,
Ephesians chapter 1
4.Before the creation of the world, He chose us through Christ to be holy and perfect in His presence.
5.Because of His love He had already decided to adopt us through Jesus Christ. He freely chose to do this
6.so that the kindness He had given us in His dear Son would be praised and given glory.

I was reading other translations and the Gods Word Translation seemed to me the easiest to understand. :-P In a different translation it said that it was predestined. He choose me, and you. Will you accept his invitation, or decline, to do your own fleshly desires?
Some people give into the worldly temptations, which could be doing, what you want and what you want only.

Bad Manners are closer then you think...

If you ever break bread with others outside of your immediate family, it is possible you have been offended by others’ table manners, or they have been offended by yours. In the age of eating in the car, while standing up, and on the couch one might argue table manners are obsolete. But this is far from the case. Do you think about your table manners when you eat with others? In restaurants, when we have to share close proximity with other tables, are we aware of how we act affecting those around us?

Let’s face it, eating with someone is an intimate act. And there’s ways to make the act more attractive and less attractive. Which category do you fall in?

Here’s a list of six bad manners that are incredibly common. Do you recognize yourself or your loved ones in this list?

1. Drinking before finishing the bite in one’s mouth.
2. Putting food in or taking the silverware out with the inside curve of the utensil instead of the outside curve.
3. Placing personal items on the table such as keys, cell phone, or purse.
4. Touching your head or face while eating.
5. Talking about your food preferences (likes or dislikes) during the meal.
6. Leaning on the table with your various body parts, including arms, elbows, or chest.

The majority of the above bad manners involve issues of hygiene. After all, imagine accepting the bread basket from the person who just ran their hand through their hair or itched their ear? And most likely, that purse set on the table was just on the car floor.

Other table manners involve how we appear to the ones having to watch us eat. When we wash our food down with our water or chew with our mouth open, it means we are oblivious to the person sitting across from us. Remember, the purpose of etiquette is for the respect of others, showing we are aware of those we are with over ourselves.
